The only way you’ll be in alignment is to live in your purpose

The beauty of being an entrepreneur is that we can work on our passion and build a life doing what we love. What we don’t prepare for is that our passion can change, and this can impact your business overall. Have you ever fell out of love with your business?

So many founders will have gone through this (or likely will at some point). Just know you are not losing the plot, and you are not alone! The ups and downs of running a business is completely natural. It is important to know when to take time out of your business and re-align yourself. You cannot build a business you love successfully without remaining aligned to the main purpose.

TURN PASSION INTO PURPOSE

Your business purpose is the reason you have formed your company. Define what you do and identify what part of it you care about the most. There have definitely been moments in my career that I’ve been working on something that isn’t a passion and what this will do is leave you feeling unfulfilled. You don’t care about it enough to pour your heart and soul into it and with that you are not aligned with your ‘WHY’. When you take time to soul-search and do an honest reflection on your business, you can find your WHY and what makes you feel aligned to your higher-self.

NURTURE THE CONNECTION WITH YOUR HIGHEST SELF

The higher self is your truest self. It is when you feel so aligned with who you are, what you are doing and where you are. When you consciously reach this stage of business, you will feel the transformation, and this is when you will reach you fullest potential. It is only when I affirmed what I want and my WHY that I was able to reach to my highest self. Let go of all your scattered thoughts and the chaos of running a business, and instead focus on having a more holistic view and how everything you are working on is going to lead you to a life of purpose.

REACH YOUR OVERARCHING GOALS WITH A HOLISTIC APPROACH

When you are familiar with what you want, you can develop your business further by encompassing a holistic approach. This is when your business is one complete system and if you’re anything like me with multiple businesses, this makes life easier because it all becomes interconnected and well aligned with one main purpose. Stay focused on your main goals, but do take time to relax, because leaders who are in their iconic purpose are focused on a more seamless and sustainable business. I am focused on financial business goals, but now I’m acting from a place of iconic purpose, that my mental and emotional well-being and self-awareness are more important to me. Without that and balance, I cannot build an Iconic business.

PURPOSE WILL UNLOCK PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Finding your purpose will unlock new levels of personal development. Through finding your purpose, nurturing the connection with your highest self and adopting a holistic approach to business this is when you will really see and feel the personal growth.

We can only project great business ideas outwards, if we take the time to look inward.

As a natural workaholic, I’ve always had a vision with what I wanted to achieve, but now the vision is holistic it’s easier for me to align my personal and professional goals to succeed. Since the launch of Iconic Publicity, and being in alignment with my Iconic Purpose it gives me great pleasure to share these thoughts with you, so you can do the same.

CREATE A PURPOSE-DRIVEN PERSONAL BRAND

We’ve spoken about personal development, but what about professional development. How are you going to determine how others see you? When defining and communicating your brand built on purpose, it is crucial you pivot your personal brand. Business branding focuses on the identity and values of a company, whereas personal branding is linked to your character, expertise and experience. By having a person-centred approach, this can become very powerful because it goes beyond the typical convention of professional branding. It enables your audience to connect with you on a more profound, human-level, fostering trust and engagement. Authenticity is valued and it’s time you show your Iconic self as the iconic leader that you are.

SHOW YOUR ICONIC SELF

So how do you show your Iconic self through your business and create your personal brand?

Your success will depend on getting others to recognise your value. In today’s world, everyone is a brand, and you need to develop yours and get comfortable marketing it.  Your goal should be to ensure that the narrative created about you is accurate, coherent, compelling and differentiated.

Here I have outlined 7 steps that will help you map out a personal brand process.

Step 1: What difference would you like to make to your audience? Ask yourself HOW and WHY you have lived the life you have and look for character traits that connect to the group you want to target.

Step 2: Audit your personal brand. You need to analyse the brand you are and decide on how you can build on this to be more fruitful. Catalog your credentials and outline your social connections so you can leverage on that. How well are you exhibiting and showcasing your attributes?

Step 3: Construct your personal narrative. Refine the narrative that will communicate your brand. Your personal brand will become much more memorable and persuasive when you sell it with stories.

Step 4: Always embody your brand. It is important to be aware of the messages you are sending.

Step 5: Communicate your brand story. The next step is to create a media plan which uses owned, earned and paid media to spread your story. The goal is to increase discoverability, awareness and understanding with your audience.

Step 6: Socialise your brand. Personal branding isn’t an individual exercise and you need a community to help you share your brand. So carefully identify what communities can assist you on your journey.

Step 7: Revaluate and adjust. Personal branding is an ongoing process and should be looked at regularly to ensure you are reaching your market value and narrative goals.
